Flood Risk Management: Resilience and Adaptation 2019

Jean-Francois is the policy lead for flood & coastal erosion risk management at the Welsh Local Government Association and Chair of the Wales Coastal Groups Forum. 

I support and advise Local Authorities with the delivery of their flood risk functions and work closely with the Welsh Government and Natural Resources Wales in the development of policies, strategies and delivery of national initiatives related to FCERM and more recently throughout the implementation of Schedule 3 of the Flood & Water Management Act in Wales.

The broad portfolio I cover has allowed me to gain a better understanding of the challenges we face when trying to manage a growing risk with diminishing resources and driven me to champion partnership working for a more holistic approach to the delivery of FCERM but also coastal risk management and adaptation.
