Peter Stanley

Geotechnical Engineer, Natural Resources Wales

Peter has 25 years’ experience in the assessment of land contamination and environmental compliance. Peter started his career in the oil industry and subsequently moved into the environmental sector initially assessing landfill gas emissions, but progressing into contaminated land, remediation and landfill engineering working at various times for Environment Agency Wales and Cardiff Council where latterly he implemented new land contamination duties and oversaw the assessment of several Part 2A sites.

On moving into consultancy, Peter delivered on varied land contamination assessments, due diligence, metal mine, brownfield scoping study and stock transfer projects that he managed or directed.  On returning to Natural Resources Wales, he successfully steered the remediation at Brofiscin Quarry and provides engineering and land quality support on metal mine and landfill engineering projects. Peter actively supports a number of metal mine projects, which has included the SBRI metal mine competition. Peter is a Scrutineer for applicants progressing through Chartership with the Geological Society.
