Keynote NPPF 2019: A New Approach to Viability
Defining viability assessments as, “the process of setting out the contributions expected from a development; ensuring financial viability based on the value generated by the development is more than the cost of developing it,'' the Planning Practice Guidance (PPG), alongside the revised NPPF 2019 strengthens the role of viability assessments at the plan making stage.
This places a greater ‘risk’ emphasis on the developer in regards to the redevelopment of brownfield sites and the evaluation of remediation costs and raises the profile of site investigation works as a method to balance the risk/viability.
Understanding this new approach and applying sound work practices at the plan making stage can reduce uncertainty and assist in the redevelopment and delivery of local plans.

In-situ remediation: the latest innovations and applications
As founder of Redox Tech, one of the United States’ leading remediation subcontractors, Dr Haselow has spent 24 years at the forefront of in-situ remediation research and delivery in the US. Speaking alongside Geostream UK chemical expert, Dr Olivia Hall, Dr Haselow will share his experiences with the latest in-situ technologies, discussing their applications, and their pros and cons.
