Darren is a Principal Project Manager at the Coal Authority with over 25 years’ experience in civil , geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering, ground investigation, earthworks design and the management of historic coal mining liabilities. Darren’s main area of expertise is in the field of geotechnical engineering relating to the historic mining and construction sectors. He has provided technical advice for disused spoil tip management, treatment of abandoned mine-workings, major infrastructure projects such as highway developments, and flood defence works. Darren is currently responsible for the management of public safety related coal mining legacy issues and the management of disused colliery tips in the UK.
