Strategic Policy and Campaigns Advisor, Independent Consultant working with Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE)

Gerald Kells has thirty years' experience in the sustainability sector, with particular emphasis on transport, housing and policy development. He has taken a keen interest in urban regeneration. He lives in the Black Country and, as a member of the Regional Assembly, sat on the steering group of the seminal Black Country Study in the early 2000s.

More recently, since leaving CPRE as West Midlands Regional Policy Officer in 2013, he has worked as an Independent Consultant, with particular emphasis on Local Plan Development and Strategic Policy Making. He gave evidence, for example, at the Birmingham Plan and has recently worked for CPRE Leicestershire on their response to the Strategic Growth Plan.
