Flood Risk Management: Resilience and Adaptation 2019

Emma was nominated by her peers as the Mott MacDonald Environmentalist of the Year for 2019 for her work in promoting natural flood management. She has worked for the consultancy for nearly 20 years across the flood risk, catchment management and environmental management sectors. Over this time Emma has managed a range of flood risk management projects and is currently excited to be leading a natural flood management (NFM) project to strategically assess and implement natural solutions across the River Aire catchment to reduce flood risk and help address the climate emergency. She also instigated one of the Defra community pilot NFM projects in the catchment where she lives, bringing on board partners and securing funding, and is passionate about working locally to solve bigger issues.
