Gianluca Barletta
Gianluca is an Associate Partner for IBM Global Business Services, where he focuses on helping clients in the Engineering, Construction and Operations sector achieve their digital transformation goals. He brings over 15 years of experience in consulting services to the infrastructure sector.
After graduating in management and engineering in Italy and working there for two years as a senior analyst, Gianluca moved to London to further his studies, obtaining a Master in transportation and business management and then a PhD in economics, both at Imperial College. He then left the academic world to join Parsons Brinckerhoff (now WSP), one of the world leading engineering consulting firms, and moved into progressively senior positions in the UK and Canada, including the post of National Director of Strategic Consulting for Canada. Two years ago, Gianluca moved back to the UK to take the lead of WSP’s UK and Global Smart Consulting businesses. In this last role, Gianluca focused on the adoption of digital solutions for the construction and engineering sectors, advising on a diverse range of topics such as smart cities, IoT, data analytics, smart buildings, BIM and virtual design, cognitive solutions in healthcare and intelligent mobility.
