Dan Lapworth

Principal Hydrogeochemist, British Geological Survey

Dr Dan Lapworth is a Principal Hydrogeochemist at the British Geological Survey. He has 18 years’ experience in applied research and has published over 60 peer-reviewed, international journal articles. His research interests include water quality, groundwater protection and replenishment within the context of environmental change and anthropogenic pressures. His interest lies in applied groundwater science to inform groundwater development and improved protection of drinking water resources with ongoing research in Europe, Africa and Asia. Dan leads BGS research on emerging organic contaminants in groundwater as well as the application of novel field-based techniques to assess microbiological contamination in groundwater sources.
