Dr Michael Rivett is the founding director of GroundH2O plus Ltd based in Birmingham who aim to provide innovative thinking on groundwater contamination issues and consultancy, peer review, applied research and training in groundwater and contamination issues. He is also a part-time Research Fellow at the University of Strathclyde on their Climate Justice Fund – Water Future research programme funded by the Scottish Government responsible for developing published research output on sustainable groundwater resource development in Malawi. Previous, he was a Senior Lecturer in Hydrogeology at the University of Birmingham for almost 20 years. His specialism within groundwater contamination covers the fate and remediation of organic contaminants (L/DNAPL, VOC, emerging, etc.), urban-contaminated land, groundwater contamination  – surface-water interaction, radiological contamination and baseline assessment for shale-gas development.
