Jacob Bonehill
Principal Planning Policy Officer, Birmingham City Council
Jacob has over 10 years’ experience in planning and is currently employed as a Principal Planning Policy Officer by Birmingham City Council. He has worked on a wide range of brownfield developments during his career including major residential, commercial, industrial, retail and leisure schemes. Career highlights include:
- Being part of the core team that produced the brownfield focused Birmingham Development Plan,
- Leading the production of a number of statutory and non-statutory policy documents such as the high density family focused 3,000 home Greater Icknield Masterplan,
- Working within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver schemes including the 20 hectare Advanced Manufacturing Hub and the 1,400 home Icknield Port Loop development,
- Being a member of the team that undertook the initial feasibility work for Birmingham’s successful bid to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
