Brownfield Briefing's brand new conference, Ground Gas 2018

The recent Government figures released on 16th November 2017 indicating that the number of new houses built in England had risen by 15 per cent over the year and that 1.1 million additional homes have been built since 2010 show progress and with the housing white paper ‘Fixing our broken housing market’housing clearly remains a government’s priority.

Key to this progress is the Government's commitment to bring brownfield land back to use and through its ambitious programme of measures which include:

> introduction of Brownfield Registers;

> making £3 billion of loan funding for developers available through the Home Building Fund;a wide range of new permitted development rights, which give permission for specified forms of development;

> designating 26 Housing Zones with the potential to deliver up to 44,000 new homes on brownfield land; and

> continuing the use of the  £1.2 billion Starter Homes Land Fund to bring forward suitable brownfield land for starter homes and other types of affordable home ownership products.

Therefore it is imperative that those concerned with the development of brownfield sites have robust strategies in place that provide both time and cost effectiveness in the remediation of land, which is why Brownfield Briefing in association with Environment Analyst is delighted to be hosting Ground Gas 2018. Bringing together regulators, consultants, remediation contractors and other industry experts with a specific focus on ground gas assessment, verification, validation and protection.
