Ben Combes is an Assistant Director at PwC and a Senior Economist in the Sustainability and Climate Change team, currently focussed on harnessing emerging technologies for the environment. He is also PwC's Project Director for the World Economic Forum's 4IR for the Earth initiative. As an external appointment, Ben is an Advisory Board Member to the All-Party Parliamentary Climate Change Group.
Prior to joining PwC in 2016, Ben was a Director at the macroeconomic advisory firm Llewellyn Consulting where he led their energy, environment and climate change practice. Before a move into consulting, Ben spent a year at the UK's Civil Aviation Authority devising their environmental strategy, and four years as an Economic Adviser in the UK's Government Economic Service: first at Defra, then at the Committee on Climate Change advising the UK Government on carbon budgets. At the start of his career Ben had junior roles at Oxford Economics, GFC Economics and Deloitte.
Ben holds an MA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Environmental and Resource Economics from University College London.
Since 2016, he has been a Visiting Fellow of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics.
