The Challenge of Scope 3 Emissions in Creating and Implementing a Credible Net Zero Transition Plan

About this event

Credible net zero transition plans require a robust understanding of all GHG emissions, including scope 3. However, global climate targets and organisational goals are looming and many organisations still don’t have a plan for how to achieve said targets.

Whilst accurate accounting for Scope 3 emissions is challenging, this shouldn’t stop action planning. An initial assessment can identify where GHG emissions are coming from, enabling organisations start thinking about their business strategy to decarbonise, and provide initial focus on the areas of greatest impact. Improvements in data and performance monitoring can be managed alongside action.

In this Sustainability Delivery Group Expert Talk, we will discuss the importance of the considering the value chain (scope 3), some of the challenges around reporting, and some practical steps for those at the start of their climate transition planning journey.
