Rachel Bell

Hydrogeologist, British Geological Survey

Rachel Bell is a hydrogeologist at the British Geological Survey, with 8 years’ experience in practical hydrogeology. She has worked both in the UK and internationally on groundwater quality investigations and understanding the impact of climate change on groundwater resources. Specific expertise includes the development of groundwater conceptual models for the assessment of risk from anthropogenic activities and environmental baseline water quality. Her current research includes multiple collaborative projects with the Environment Agency focused on sampling and analysis of methane in groundwater and baseline studies of naturally occurring substances associated with oil and gas activities. Rachel is a Fellow of the Geological Society (FGS), committee member of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) GB chapter and the secretariat of the UK Groundwater Forum.
